Welcome to our Preschool Program!
At St. John of God School, we offer a preschool program that is fully licensed by the State of California and actively engages in academic learning, as well as social and emotional learning, in a school community that is kind, inclusive, and helpful. Our preschool provides high-quality care and education for children ages 2-4 years olds* from August thru mid-July, 7:30 am-2:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 7:30 am-11:45 am on Fridays.
*all preschoolers must be fully toilet trained.

Our classroom is a place of discovery and exploration where all children are encouraged to try new things and challenge themselves. Through play and hands-on learning experiences, our children are engaging in their most important work, stimulating their minds and bodies to explore with all of their senses. Because feeling safe and supported makes learning possible, it is also our goal as early childhood educators to provide children with a warm and welcoming environment that encourages development and positive academic growth.
Through regular assessment and communication with parents/guardians, our teachers learn each child’s skills and mastery level, allowing for a classroom experience that is tailored to meet each child’s individual needs. Our teachers foster a love of learning by planning and adapting activities and experiences that interest and challenge children’s intellectual development and promote the use of problem-solving and decision-making skills needed to be successful both in and out of the classroom.
