Third / Fourth Grade
Third and Fourth Grade Highlights
The Third and Fourth Graders get to have their classroom upstairs. They are one of the classes in rotation to lead Friday Masses. Third Graders are eligible to altar serve, join choir, and sports. In addition to these activities, Fourth Grade students can join Drama.
Third Grade students focus on memorizing all of their multiplication facts. In addition, they study division, perimeter and area, and fractions. The study of grammar and Spelling help them to become better writers. Third Graders also learn Cursive Handwriting, and we read the classic book “Charlotte’s Web”.
Fourth Grade students multiply and divide bigger numbers! They learn to measure angles and find areas. Fourth graders can find equivalent fractions and work with mixed numbers and decimals. Fourth Grade students step through the process of learning how to write an essay, and we read novels together.
Students in this homeroom do a Mission Project, and a Science Biome Project in alternate years. A variety of fun activities like Halloween, Christmas Program, and Spirit Weeks are interspersed throughout the year, assuring the students are having fun while they are learning.
