Homework Policy
In recognition of the role of parents as primary educators, and in recognition of the school’s philosophy with respect to the value of quality family time outside of regular school hours, homework in not assigned on weekends except in special cases.
The time spent on homework should be quiet an uninterrupted and should be approximately:
Grades 1-2 Not to exceed 40 minutes
Grades 3-5 Not to exceed one hour
Grades 6-8 Not to exceed two hours
Homework Infractions (grades 3-8)
A Homework Infraction is the consequence of not satisfactorily completing a homework assignment on time.
Students and parents will be given a homework infraction on the day the student misses the assignment.
The homework infraction should be signed and the completed homework assignment turned in on the following school day.
Three Homework Infractions in one semester is equivalent to 1 detention.
Grading Policy
Primary Level (Grades 1-2)
O = Outstanding
G = Good
S = Satisfactory
NI = Needs Improvement
+ = Area of Strength
√ = Area of Improvement
Intermediate Level (Grades 3-5)
A = 95-100% C = 75-79%
A- = 93-94% C- = 70-74%
B+ = 90-92% D = 60-69%
B = 87-89% F = 59% - Below
B- = 85-86% + = Area of Strength
C+= 80-84% √ = Area of Improvement
Departmentalized Level (Grades 6-8)
A = 95-100% C = 75-79%
A- = 93-94% C- = 70-74%
B+ = 90-92% D = 60-69%
B = 87-89% F = 59% - Below
B- = 85-86% + = Area of Strength
C+= 80-84% √ = Area of Improvement
